Emergency shutdown to leave residents without power for eight hours

Residents urged to plan accordingly

Residents are urged to brace themselves for yet another long power outage on 16 April.

According to City Power, they have planned an emergency shutdown from 8am to 4pm, which will affect Florida Park, Discovery and Selwyn.

The power interruption is necessary to do essential maintenance on the power utility’s network, and forms part of their programme to constantly strive to provide better service.

Customers are urged to treat their electricity supply points as live at all times, as the power supply can be restored at any time, without prior notice.

City Power apologises for any inconvenience caused by these interruptions. Should customers require further information or clarity, they should contact the call centre on 0860 JOBURG (562 874).
