I wish to update the community about the project progress made and next stages with regards to the repairs of the parking slab at Flora Centre. We have now received the Geotech report and the concrete test results on the existing structure.
The road forward entails: Analysing the Geotech report, analysing the concrete test results, and getting the forensic investigation underway again (before we can do anything to the structure). Re-visiting the structural design on the basis of the new information. Adjusting the previous design to accommodate the newly received details. Calling tenders for reinstatement of the parking deck according to the revised design. Adjudication of tenders and proposal to appoint. Appointment of contractor, and start of construction.
The Engineer requested a meeting with the Forensic Engineer and the Engineering Geologist during the first week in April. The programme for the work depends on whether the forensic engineer is satisfied with the available information. If he doesn’t require any further information, we can go ahead immediately.
