Horison kickboxers bag a host of medals

Three fighters were also invited to compete in Namibia

Kickboxers from across the country came together at the first Great North Tournament I to showcase their skills in the ring and on the mat.

The fighters competed in various categories, including kick-light, light contact, semi contact as well as full contact, and managed to bag a total of six medals – three gold, two silver and one bronze.

One of the fighters, Johnny Smit, had to withdraw after his fight was stopped because of a nosebleed that could not be brought under control.

Dyllan Opperman had a very good tournament, and bagged three gold medals, one each in light contact, semi-contact and full contact. He won his full contact fight with a Technical Knockout (TKO).

Darin Opperman, the head coach at Team Rage, was very happy with his fighters’ results, and shared some more good news, “Three of my fighters, Dyllan, Cole Langa and Wilhelmina Lombaard, were also invited to compete in an upcoming tournament in Namibia, where they will be testing their skills against some of the best fighters around.”
