An armed robbery left the patients at Dr Lourens Pretorius’ orthodontic surgery in Cilliers Street, the service road just off Ontdekkers Road, seriously rattled this afternoon.
The Roodepoort Police and DMS Security responded to the incident, which occurred at about noon.
According to a source at the scene, three suspects, two men carrying firearms, arrived at the surgery and proceeded to rob the patients.
“The police said the suspects were only carrying plastic guns, but I know what a real gun is and that one was real,” said a female patient who was an eyewitness.
It is not yet clear what was taken, or whether anyone was hurt.
Police are currently still on the scene investigating. An update will be published once more information becomes available.
