ESS Roodepoort hosts successful fun run

All money raised will help the players compete in the upcoming Friendly Cup

 

The future soccer stars at the Euro Soccer Schools (ESS) West Rand recently received a financial boost that will enable them to participate in the upcoming Friendly Cup.

This tournament will be held in Cape Town later this year, and the players are very excited to compete and show off their soccer skills.

 

A fun run was organised at the Alma Mater International School and was well supported, with almost 100 people running or walking in support of this cause. They completed a distance of just more than five and a half kilometres.

Following the fun run, the ESS West Rand U/7 team played a match against their counterparts from ESS Edenvale. “The U/7’s played very well, and showed some strong defence. The match ended in a one-all draw, with Kailum Baburam scoring for West Rand,” said Junior Mwale, the ESS head coach.ESS West Rand recently relocated to the Alma Mater International School, 1 Coronation Street, Paardeplaats, Krugersdorp, where they train and play their home games.

“We are continuing to grow, and have teams from U/7 up to U/17. We just want to thank everyone who got involved and supported our players to help raise some much-needed money for them to attend this tournament.
