Are we going to be compensated?

No help received from the powers that be

I would like to voice my concern regarding the load-shedding in the area of Florida, Roodepoort.

I reside in a townhouse complex in Florida and from 17 to 19 March, there was no electricity. This is unacceptable, as the times that were stipulated for load-shedding were not adhered to by the service provider. We have tried on numerous occasions to contact the municipality, but have been unsuccessful.

Reference numbers were received, together with messages from the Department that the electricity issues have been sorted, but these were all lies, as the power never switched on.

I am asking you, ‘Why should honest people be treated so unfairly by a Government that clearly has no regard for anyone but themselves?’ Are these so-called leaders going to compensate the residents for the loss of food and electrical items that could be damaged by these different surges of electrical current? Will they have concern for these people?

I do believe the ward councillors for the area should stand up and be the voice of the community. Alternatively, we, as a community, should voice our opinions on all social media platforms to highlight the inadequacy of the current City Power officials within our area.
