CWSAR on a mission to collect monetary donations
She added the breakfast was part of many plans to realise their monetary goal.
Child Welfare SA Roodepoort (CWSAR) has started initiatives to bring in cash donations in order to ensure that they do not run short of funds to cover the organisation’s running costs.
Putting this initiative into effect, the Discovery-based NGO held a charity breakfast on the morning of 16 March at Rusty Hook in Wilgespruit in a bid to raise at least some of the needed funds to continue aiding the disadvantaged children and also boost themselves financially.
The director of the organisation, Estelle Odendaal, explained their mission in more detail. “It’s good that people donate baby clothes, for instance, because they can see that they go to a specific baby, but nobody thinks about the fact that if we do not have money to run the office, we can’t do our jobs and see to the babies, because we won’t have an office, cars, petrol and staff to run the organisation,” she explained.
She added that the breakfast was just one of many efforts to realise their monetary goal. “We started last year with two big events and this was the continuation. We want to have at least one breakfast every year; a small function at the beginning of the year and a big one towards the end of the year, which will be in a form of a ball, and we want to close off the year with a small function or a picnic,” Estelle highlighted.
She also thanked the following organisations for their support: John Dory’s in Cresta Mall, Welbedacht Wine Estate and Dischem Foundation.
