The City of Johannesburg has extended the business hours at 11 of the libraries across the seven regions, including Florida.
From Monday, 1 July, the library’s hours will change. The library will operate from 9am to 6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Wednesdays, it will open at 1pm and close at 6pm. On Fridays, it will open at 9am and close at 1pm. On Saturdays, the library will be open from 8.30am to 1pm.
During winter months (May and August) the library will close at 5:30pm. “We have extended library hours so students and those who work during the day can also have access to the library,” said councillor Nonhlanhla Sifumba, the Member of the Mayoral Committee for Community Development.
The library is located on the corner of Church Street and Third Avenue, in Florida.
