Liyaqat Lee Foundation needs support to help others

'The foundation is seriously under-funded and needs support'

The founder of the Liyaqat Lee Foundation, Estelle Delport, is extending her fight to get justice, not only for the missing Lee Mentoor, but for other families also going through the same trauma.

“The Foundation wants to assist families who are experiencing similar situations. We know you feel hopeless and that the justice system is failing you. No parent should be grieving like this. We want to protect our children and ensure their voices are heard. We want justice and a system in place to ensure that justice prevails – a system that will protect our future leaders,” Estelle said.

She added that the Foundation will be interacting and working with various organisations all over South Africa, in an attempt to campaign and bring about a much-needed change in South Africa.”But, we need your support. This is a desperate cry for intervention, a cry that no family should go through the pain and suffering we are going through. Be the voice for the voiceless.”

The Foundation, which is a registered non-profit organisation (NPO) and non-profit company (NPC) can only succeed in its mission with the help of the community. Estelle explained: “The Liyaqat Lee Foundation has begun the process of fundraising to aid private investigators in the advancement of the investigative process, as well as putting up a reward for beneficial information leading to finding Lee [or any other missing child]. We are underfunded and need assistance to progress. Raising funds will be assisting with the above as well as getting the Foundation started with what it is intended for.”

Estelle concluded by saying, “Enough is enough! We cannot continue to sit back and expect change if we not prepared to fight for it. I hope and pray daily that we will find answers – I pray that we will find Liyaqat Lee.”
