According to the Automobile Association, motorists can expect a sharp rise in fuel prices for the month of March.
This prediction is based on unaudited mid-month fuel price data from the Central Energy Fund and is said to be due to the steady rise in oil prices during February. The weakening of the rand has also played a role in the rise of fuel prices.

Petrol is expected to rise by 43c per litre, diesel by 62c per litre and illuminating paraffin by 47c per litre.
If the rand does not strengthen and oil prices do not stop rising, matters could be worse by the end of the month.
