Westgate’s Food Carnival an appetising affair

Zola launched her second cookbook,'Simply Zola'

 

Those who attended left the Westgate Shopping Centre’s Food Carnival with full tummies after indulging in some yummy food.

The master of ceremonies was award-winning actress, dancer and singer Linda Sebezo who welcomed celebrity chef Zola Nene to the kitchen on the stage to cook and showcase her mouthwatering dishes.

The lucky winner chosen from a Facebook competition, Asavela Yashe shared the kitchen with Zola and together they cooked a delicious meal. Zola also launched her second cookbook, Simply Zola and handed out autographed copies to some lucky winners.

While they were busy cooking, the audience was served food from the various food franchises Westgate. A ribbon was cut to mark the opening of the food court. Local chefs were given an opportunity to showcase their best dishes and later on the audience was treated to food to sample.

Entertainment was also on point as there were live performances by local schools, including, Rishile Primary, Sivelile Primary, Durban Deep Primary, Lodirile Primary and Mokgome Senior Secondary, who performed marimba, gumboot, revue dances.
