I stayed at Die Kiesels on Florin Road a few years ago. It’s a lovely quaint complex at first glance. As a bachelor then, I didn’t have a fixed schedule. I enlisted the services of a domestic helper in the complex, whose name eludes me now. Anyway, she came in twice a week to clean the unit. One particular day I arrived home during working hours and found my front security gate ripped open. Someone had helped themselves to my flat screen, PS3, SLR camera, totalling over R25 000 in value.
The interesting thing is that the gardener was ‘not at work’ that day to see anything, and no one else saw anything suspicious even though my unit was in the centre of the complex.
There is obviously a syndicate working there involving domestic workers and gardeners.
I moved out if that unit a month later due to safety concerns.
The green belt behind the complexes is definitely a haven for them.
I hope that they are caught before anyone is harmed.
