Class of 2018 reaches for the stars

 

On the morning of Friday, 5 January, Grade 12 learners across the area received their metric results. With the spirit of joy and happiness in the air, the Class of 2018 congratulated each other after a year of working and studying hard, extra classes and hardly any rest.

According to the Gauteng Department of Education website, the overall Gauteng pass rate was 87,9 per cent. The Johannesburg West Region achieved an overall pass rate of 90,1 per cent, which is an improvement from last year. Here is a list of schools in Roodepoort and their pass rates.

• Florida Park High School – 95,8 per cent

• Hoërskool Roodepoort – 100 per cent

• Princess High School – 79,3 per cent

• Tulip Secondary School – 100 per cent

• Lantern School – 91,1 per cent

• Hoërskool Die Adelaar – 95,2 per cent

• Hoërskool Die Burger – 79,7 per cent

• Hoërskool Florida – 99,2 per cent

• West Ridge High School – 83,6 per cent
