During the period of 19 to 22 November, the Roodepoort Police joined forces with various other law-enforcement departments, performing special duties as part of the festive season campaign.
They did various stop-and-searches throughout the Roodepoort precinct and arrested 32 suspects aged between 18 and 49. They were arrested on charges that included possession of drugs, assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm, malicious injury to property, common assault, robbery, shoplifting, attempted hijacking, housebreaking and theft, fraud, possession of explosives, rape, intimidation and drunken driving.
All suspects were charged and detained at the Roodepoort Police Station and will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
