Join the open day tournament at Danie van Zyl wrestling Club
It promises to be fun and informative
The Danie van Zyl wrestling club will be hosting the United World Wrestling 4 All Open Tournament on 1 December.
The event will be taking place at the Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre, corner of Rex and Plantation Street, Newlands from 7am.
The event is free of charge and will feature the following categories; Freestyle men from U/9 to Senior as well as Freestyle women (U/11, U/15, U/17 and Senior). There will be prize money up for grabs for the winners in the Senior category.

Other activities on the day will include a beach wrestling exhibition. During this exhibition, wrestlers will be able to take on each other in a sand-pit (which will represent the beach). This exhibition will focus on showcasing the various ages, abilities and styles of wrestling and will happen in sessions throughout the day. This will be open to boys, girls, men and women (able-bodied and disabled).
Children up to the age of 13 years (boys and girls) will also have the opportunity to participate in the United World Wrestling Wrestle4Fun kids games, which promises to be a lot of fun.
To top it all off, the skilled and qualified coaches will host training sessions, utilising international training methods, which will focus on the Suples Strong training equipment, including the popular Bulgarian bag. These sessions will be hosted by an international coach and instructor from the Suples brand and pre-registrations will be necessary to book your spot for one of these sessions – so make sure you do not miss out!
The closing date for entries and bookings is 21 November at 11pm.
