Founder of Sparrow celebrates 80th birthday

A surprise party for a special person

The founder and heart of Sparrow Ministries, Reverend Doctor Corinne McClintock, recently celebrated her 80th birthday.

Tania Oldjohn, the Chairperson of the Board, decided to partner with Amanda Malherbe, the General Manager of Sparrow Ministries, to ensure this day was extra special.

Amanda explained, “We decided to have a surprise party for Corinne, and thanks to the members of the board, some of our regular donors, Goldman Street Spar and the Minister of Science and Technology, we were able to get everything together to ensure an extra special day.”

Corinne was clearly thrilled to bits, and could not stop smiling. She celebrated her special day surrounded by some special friends, yummy treats and a beautiful cake.

She said, “Thank you to each and everyone for coming out and making my birthday one to remember. But, the thanks must go to God for preserving me for this long and blessing me with good health. I also want to give a huge thank you to the children, because, if not for them, I would not be here.”

Tania concluded by saying, “We wanted to host this party for Corinne, because she is a beautiful, grounded person with a heart of gold. She loves children and always does so much, we just wanted to thank her in return.”
