It’s almost time to Chill Out with Hearts and Crafts and Caxton
All profits will go to Cradle of Hope, which does such sterling work in the community.
Our Readers Day is less than a month away so, if you have not yet booked your place, do so now as we are limiting the number of seats to 50.
Here’s a recap to let you know what it’s all about. We want to interact with all of you and have fun while still doing some good in town. So we thought of relaunching our Readers Days which, in years gone by, were extremely well attended and sold out well before the event.
Usambara Venue and Lodge (Plot 16, c/o N14 and Steyn Road, Honingklip, Krugersdorp – just over the Pretoria/ Krugersdorp highway) is kindly sponsoring the venue and all the catering for the morning. We start at 9am but those of you who want to come straight after dropping your kids at school are welcome. There will be tea, coffee and snacks while you wait.

We have well-known crafter Joan Launspach of Hearts and Crafts who will be showing you how to make perfect bows and you will each receive a bow maker. There are also quick and easy boxes to make, perfect gift wrapping to experience and more. Joan’s home-made body butter is to die for – you will never want to use anything else – and she will show you how to make it and also give you the recipe. You will get a sample in your goodie bags which will also contain some super gifts (valued at more than the price of the ticket). They include a miniature drink (courtesy of Witpoortjie Liquor Store on Main Reef Road), books and much, much more.
Then there will be a demo on how to pack your suitcase effectively and even what you should look for when buying a suitcase, how to travel effortlessly with the help of a travel counsellor and so much more. This will be presented by Monica from Matador Luggage.
There are some lucky draw prizes which include Ocean Basket vouchers (thanks to Pippa from Ocean Basket Cradlestone and Featherbrooke), a three-month self-defence course (valued at R1 500) donated by Jurgens Lamprecht from the Shoalin Temple in Malcolm Road, Poortview and much, much more.
There will be a few tables with some Christmas or teachers’ gifts for you to buy as well.
The day will end with a divine lunch after an equally delicious tea break during the morning.
Oh yes. All profits will go to Cradle of Hope, which does such sterling work in the community.
Tickets are R300 a person, plus a child’s gift, clearly marked ‘boy’ or ‘girl’, and the age group it is suitable for. For bookings and further details contact Joan Launspach on 083 326 5157 or mail her at joan@heartsandcrafts.co.za.
