Lions had a high tea in aid of Cansa
Event was held in memory of Lion Marlene Lepley who lost her fight against cancer
Saturday, 13 October was a special day for the Wilro Park Lions as they hosted their annual Cuppa for Cansa Ladies Tea.
The event was held in memory of Lion Marlene Lepley, who lost her fight against cancer. This year’s event was even more special for the Lions because Marlene’s family were able to join them.

All the money raised at the Cuppa for Cansa Tea was handed to Ester Pretorius from Cansa West Rand. “In addition, this year we also had fun with a Silent Auction of a gorgeous little Unicorn which was “Handmade with Love” by Amanda Hone, with the money going to a Pediatric Cancer Project,” District Chairman, Sandy van Heerden, said.
There were prizes up for grabs and the lucky prize winners walked away with a beautiful Pamper Hamper, a lovely silver locket and the 10 Spot prizes for Beauty Vouchers from Ma Beaut’e Salon where Raquel is offering treatments of pink gel finger- and toenails in aid of Cancer this month.

The event had a sentimental attachment to it as the guests brought along decorated pebbles which will be laid along the Memory Lane in memory of others who have passed away.
Each guest received a thank you gift as a token of appreciation for their ongoing support of this project.
