On Friday, 5 October, at 7.30am, I arrived at the Florida Licensing Department to renew my driver’s licence. I was attacked and robbed by one of those black guys who force you into a parking spot.
After this very unpleasant experience I was informed by one of the bystanders that the Florida office is closed and the closest is Roodepoort.
I responded that I do not know how to get to the Roodepoort City Hall.
A JMPD vehicle was parked across the road.
This gentleman walked with me to the parked JMPD vehicle and explained to the officers what had happened.
The officer in the passenger seat asked me to get into the vehicle and take them to the place where the robbery took place. Needless to say, the only remaining person, the photographer, was there. He said that the robber ran away.
They then asked where my car was parked. I pointed towards my car. The driver, Inspector Moepye, told me to follow them as they would take me to the Roodepoort City Hall.
I wish to commend these two officers for the way they handled the situation and the way they treated me.
Officers, well done! Keep it up! You are truly remarkable.
