‘Disability is not an inability’
Steven Pienaar said a few words of encouragement to the learners
A speech given by the well-known professional soccer player, Steven Pienaar, left learners feeling motivated and determined to succeed in life.
On 10 October, Steven spend his day visiting the learners of Coronation Training Centre.
The purpose of the event was to motivate the learners and build their self-esteem while they also enjoyed interacting with Steven. Part of the entertainment for the day was dancing, playing soccer, sack races, water slides and jumping castles. When hunger stared kicking in, the learners could feast on boerewors rolls.

Steven said a few words of encouragement to the learners. “Disability is not an inability to be able to function. With hard work and focus, you can achieve your dreams, anything is possibly. Don’t let anyone put you down. You have to fight to make your dreams come true,” he said.
He also mentioned that he is from Westbury and that the school has always been part of his community and close to his heart.
Coronation Training Centre is a school that provides specialised education and support to intellectually impaired learners.
