Five arrested for illegal firearms, ammunition and explosives
Police acted on a tip-off.
On Tuesday (9 October) at about 10.45am, Florida Visible Policing members received a tip-off about a group of armed men near the corner of Anvil and Spencer Roads in Robertville.
They summonsed a police helicopter, the Johannesburg Tactical Response Team and the K-9 Unit as back-up.

When the suspects spotted the police, they fled in different directions. Five of them were arrested and found to be in possession of an AK47, a R5 rifle, explosives and 158 rounds of ammunition.
The suspects aged between 32 and 52 will appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court soon.
