Successful black belt grading for Horizon karatekas
Four students passed the intense grading
Four karatekas from the Horizon Karate Centre successfully completed their recent black belt grading.
The grading formed part of the Japanese Karate Association (JKA) All Africa Championships that took place at the Ellis Park Arena.
The grading, which was a continental Dan (black belt) grading, was handled by two senior Japanese masters from the JKA head office in Tokyo.
Sensei Wendy Wannenburg congratulated Nadine Parker (4th Dan), Izél van Blerk (2nd Dan), Tiya Naidoo (1st Dan) and Ruben Vorster (1st Dan) on passing their grading, and said, “I am exceptionally proud of each one of them. Nadine, who successfully graded for her 4th Dan, needs a special mention, as it is quite a difficult grading that she has managed to complete with success.”
