Attempted CIT heist in Florida foiled by quick response

Suspects fled the scene in a white Opel Corsa

An attempted Cash-in-Transit heist was foiled by the quick response of BCI Security and the police this afternoon.

According to Gary Jordaan from BCI Security, they were alerted to a robbery in progress close to the Shell Service Station on the corner of Ontdekkers and Gordon Road at 12.29pm.

Reports from the scene stated that three suspects disarmed the Fidelity guard, and shot out a tyre on the truck, before fleeing in a white Opel Corsa towards Hendrik Potgieter Road.

(WEB) The suspects shot at the cash van’s tyre.

Luckily no injuries were reported and the heist was unsuccessful.

The incident is being investigated by the police.
