City Power has announced that the Eikenhof Substation is up and running again.
“It’s official. Eikenhof Substation is fully restored. Once again, thank you ever so much, Joburg, for your understanding and patience, and for sticking with us during this difficult time. It’s been tough but we stuck together.
Hooray to the team that made it possible,” said City Power spokesperson, Isaac Mangena.

This comes after the substation caught fire on Monday, causing a widespread power and water outage.
