Afriforum defends its decision to release alleged EWC list
"We will not play into Minister's secrecy strategy," said Afriforum CEO.
In a short video press release, Afriforum’s Chief Executive Officer, Kallie Kriel, said yesterday (13 August), that the civil rights organisation “still believes the list had to be exposed”.
“The Minister of Land Reform (Maite Nkoana-Mashabane) clearly said she wants the list to be kept secret so that farmers who will be affected will not have time to prepare for legal action.

“We are not going to be part of the Minister’s secrecy strategy. We believe that the names of these farms had to be exposed so that we can fight it in court,” said Kriel.
Kriel said that Afriforum was “playing into the hands of the Minister’s secrecy strategy”.
