SPCA needs your help to feed the animals
All the animals need special love, food and care
Due to the number of confiscated, abandoned, dumped and stray animals increasing on a daily basis, the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA is in desperate need of pet food.
“We care for more than 250 dogs and 150 cats on a monthly basis, animals that are in our care because they have either been abandoned, dumped, not claimed by their owners, or (our special ones) confiscated,” said Senior Inspector Mandy Cattanach, the SPCA manager.
She added that they currently have more than 30 confiscated dogs in their care, and said, “These dogs need special love, food and care. They will be in our care for many, many more months.”
She concluded by saying, “We will not turn a blind eye on animal cruelty and will continue to prosecute those who abuse animals. We are their voices, and we will be heard. But, in order for us to continue with this work, we need the community to help us by either donating food or money to purchase food.”
