Another accident on Progress Road
Residents on Progress Road claim that there's an accident at least once a fortnight on this road.
Yesterday afternoon at about 4pm, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Progress Road and Jacaranda Street in Lindhaven.
No fatalities were reported; however, ER24 was dispatched to the scene. According to eyewitnesses, one of the drivers was turning from Jacaranda Street into Progress Road and didn’t see the vehicle on Progress Road. As a result, the two cars collided.

Residents on Progress Road claimed that there’s an accident on this road at least every two weeks. They said that this is because of the heavy traffic on the road since South Road was closed.

Residents suggest that the ward councillor should embark on a campaign to have speed bumps installed, to reduce the number of accidents. They are aware that speed bumps will slow down the traffic, but they stated that their safety comes first.
The Record will get comment from the Ward 71 councillor, René Benjamin, about the placement of speed bumps.
