Another wasted idea from CoJ

Clark Botha from Roodepoort writes:

The recycling article is of absolutely no use to the residents. Only different areas are given where garden waste can be disposed of. No details of where these sites are. You must now call a number to find out. Do they really think they will get cooperation if they do it this way?

How many men, women and children without transport will walk around the streets to try and find a dumpster to deposit the waste? It will be left on the pavements.

Will my refuse tariffs drop when I have to get rid of the waste myself?

If I have a huge bag of garden waste, who will carry it for me if I have no transport?

Do you see pensioners, women and disabled people carrying waste around?

I will now leave the leaves of the municipal trees to pollute the streets and not do my regular cleaning or mowing of the pavements. The council must now get city parks to clean the streets and mow the pavements as it was before or live up to the World Class City of Rubbish.

The idea is good, but very impractical. Just another dead idea by the city of JHB.
