A Roodepoort police detective has been praised by his station commander for the excellent work he has done, as it resulted in the suspect receiving a 15-year prison sentence.
Detective Sergeant Shilaluke was the investigating officer on a case of murder that took place last year. “Because of his good investigative work, he was able to arrest the suspect, 24-year-old Livhuarane Tshililo, in Mhlangeni informal settlement in June last year. The accused went on trial, and was found guilty on 12 June this year,” said Captain Nonhlanhla Khumalo, the Roodepoort police spokesperson.

Tshililo was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, and was also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
