Newly joined stand-up comedian who had the group in stitches on the Youth Day performance.
The Witpoortjie Library recently held another blazing hot poetry session, with the theme being Youth Day.
Witpoortjie Library started hosting these events on 14 February, when the theme was ‘Valentine’s Day’. To date they have hosted six events with different themes including an anti-drug campaign and an Africa Day poetry event.

The purpose of these events is to provide an enjoyable get-together for the local youth where they can show off their talents, exchange tips and ideas with other talented young people and just learn from one another.
“We have very talented poets in our community (some of whom have performed in various well-known theatres), some brilliant actors, an excellent rapper, some very good free-stylers, as well as a newly joined stand-up comedian who had the group in stitches at the Youth Day performance,” said the senior librarian, Marlene Botha.

“We invite anyone who wants to participate to contact me on 011 762 1417 or to pay a visit to the library to make arrangements to be part of the next session which will be early in July,” she added.
Their social media handles are: Facebook: ‘Witpoortjie Performing Arts Youth movement’ and Instagram: ‘Performing Arts Youth Movement’.
