Local business challenge others to make a difference
'We are challenging other businesses to either match or top our donation'
After a recent plea from the Roodepoort/Krugersdorp SPCA for pet food and blankets, a local business has issued a challenge to other businesses.
Allen and Sophia van Deventer, the owners of Rainbow Waterproofing and Roof Repairs in Witpoortjie answered this call by donating 30x10kg bags of dog food. “With this donation, we issue a challenge to all the other companies in Roodepoort and Krugersdorp to either top or match our donation, as the Roodepoort/Krugersdorp SPCA could genuinely use the assistance,” Sophia said.
Any donations of dry or wet cat and dog food, old newspapers and old blankets will be very welcome at the SPCA. Mandy Cattanach, manager at the Roodepoort/ Krugersdorp SPCA said, “The storm blankets that are available at Jet, Ackermans and Pep Stores usually last the longest. Carpeting would also be great, but not underfelt.”
Donations can be dropped off at the SPCA at 3 Nadine Street, Florida. Alternatively, they can be dropped off at the Record/ Northsider/ News offices at the corner of General Pienaar Avenue and Ham Street, Witpoortjie.
