#HelpFindLee: Update: Frustration mounts after yet another unsuccessful search

'It is as if he just disappeared into thin air'

The Roodepoort Police, in conjunction with the Gauteng K9 Search and Rescue Unit, conducted yet another search for the missing three-year-old Lee Mentoor on 16 May.

The search was conducted at the Kloofendal Amphitheatre, but, after four hours, the search party was left frustrated, as they still had no answers.

“We received information pointing us in the direction of the Kloofendal Nature Reserve and Amphitheatre. Six handlers and their dogs did a thorough search through the Reserve, and they also had the helicopter, which did an aerial search. Sadly, we had to accept that we can still not give the family, or the community, the answers they need,” said Captain Sonja Prinsloo, spokesperson at the Roodepoort Police Station.

She added that they would not stop searching until they can provide the family, and the community with proper closure, and said, “We are doing everything we can to solve this case. This is a priority case for us, as we want to give the family, as well as the community, the closure they are asking for. We also want to ensure that there is justice for Lee, as he has crept into all of our hearts, and we want to ensure that he will always be remembered.”
