Forty-five arrests during stop-and-search operations
During the weekend of 4 to 6 May, the Roodepoort Police arrested 45 suspects aged between 25 and 56.
The suspects were arrested on the following charges – pointing of a firearm; assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm; malicious damage to property; common assault; contravening the Gauteng Liquor Act; theft; drunken driving; violation of a protection order; housebreaking and theft; possession of stolen goods; shoplifting; possession of drugs; possession of dagga; attempted theft of motor vehicle and theft and trespassing.

The suspects were detained at the Roodepoort Police Station.
