Kickboxers bring home 15 medals

Brandon-Lee bags three gold medals

 

The future of the Team Rage Kickboxing club is looking bright after the first Great North tournament that took place recently.

The club sent 11 fighters to the tournament that took place in Pretoria, and they brought back 15 medals – nine gold, four silver and two bronze.

The following fighters brought home medals:

• Bianca Botha – One gold and one silver

• Brandon-Lee Friedlander – Three gold

• Charné Botha – Two gold

• Clarise Luijk – One gold and one bronze

• Dyllan Opperman – One silver and one bronze

• Mina Lombaard – One gold and one silver

The fighters participated in various categories, including semi contact, light contact, kick light, ring contact fighting and full contact during the three day tournament.

One of the club’s fighters, Brandon-Lee Friedlander, participated in three different categories, and managed to earn a gold medal in each of them.

After the tournament, eight fighters were selected to be part of the Central Gauteng Team that will be competing at the South African championships that will be taking place at the end of April.
