#HelpFindLee Update: WATCH: Candle vigil for missing Lee
Family overwhelmed by support from community members
The family of the three-year-old who went missing from Roodekrans almost two weeks ago, held a candle vigil in his honour last night (28 March).
“The aim of the vigil was to be visible, to pray for answers and for the safe return of Lee,” said family representative Estelle Delport.

The family was overwhelmed by the support they received – not only from family members, but the community as well, who pitched up in large numbers.

The vigil was started with a prayer by a local pastor, before the group started walking.
They walked from Lee’s grandmother’s house in Bottlebrush Street, where Lee was last seen on 16 March, to the shopping centre on CR Swart Road.
Members from the Eldorado Park Community Policing Forum, Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch, DMS Security as well as five motorcycle clubs (Noble Ones, African Gladiators, Destroyers, 360 and Cheeze Boyz) also showed their support.
“Even though it was a very emotional evening, the family was so grateful for the support of the community, friends, family and strangers who came out tonight.
We would like to thank everyone who attended, and for those who wanted to be there but could not attend, we appreciate the support. We would like to have another vigil before 11 April, when Kaylah’s boyfriend is due to appear in court again.
“It is important for us not to lose focus. We want Lee back,” Delport concluded.

It is believed that Liyaqat ‘Lee’ might have been abducted by a couple driving a silver Volkswagen Polo. They claimed to be family.
