Earth tremor shook Roodepoort
The tremor was observed in parts of the West Rand
An earth tremor that occurred last night (23 January) at approximately 9.45pm, caused quite a stir on social media.
The magnitude of the tremor is still unknown, but it was confirmed by Gauteng Weather Service.

The exact cause of the tremor is not known either, but it seems that a large part of the West Rand was affected, with residents in Krugersdorp, Roodepoort, Randfontein and even Johannesburg South reporting that they felt it.
