WARNING: Protesters target motorists in Phillips Avenue
Motorists are advised to be vigilant in that area.
A resident told the Record that striking protesters were behaving aggressively towards her this morning.
Just past 8am she was travelling on Christiaan de Wet Road on her way home when she turned left into Philips Avenue. There she was confronted by a large mob, most of them clad in red. They surrounded her vehicle and started damaging it. At first she was unable to move either forward or backwards, but out of fear decided “to just drive”.

Those involved are believed to be Unisa support staff striking over salaries, but this could not be confirmed.
