UPDATE: ER24 confirms advanced life support was used on woman at Horizon
The elderly woman had suffered a heart attack.
ER24 spokesperson, Russell Meiring, confirmed that paramedics did all they could to save the 68-year-old woman who suffered a heart attack at The Village @ Horizon Shopping Centre on Monday, 8 January.
According to Meiring, “ER24 paramedics, along with other services, immediately assessed the woman and found that she had no signs of life”.

Meiring also confirmed that advanced life support interventions were initiated in a desperate attempt to resuscitate the woman.
“Unfortunately, after some time, no vital signs returned and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene,” Meiring concluded.
The Record is currently awaiting comment from the bereaved family of the woman.
