National Cupcake Day
Share a cupcake with a friend on #NationalCupcakeDay
National Cupcake Day is celebrated annually on 15 December.
Originally, the cupcake was known as the ‘one, two, three, four cake’ because the recipe used to make cupcakes listed one cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour, and four eggs as well as one cup milk and one spoonful of baking soda.
The cupcake, which is a single serving, is convenient for serving and sharing. Today, there is a large variety of recipes and just as many flavours to choose from, making the cupcake a very popular choice for both young and old.
To celebrate today, use a trusted recipe, or if you are feeling adventurous, look for a new recipe online and bake a batch of cupcakes. Invite your friends over and share your cupcakes with them – together with a cup of coffee or tea.
