Roodekrans residents clean up in the rain
Councillor grateful to all who participated
The third installment of the Mayoral clean up campaign – A Re Sebetseng – saw the residents of Roodekrans also pitching in.
Although the weather conditions did not promote outdoor cleaning up activities, this did not stop the residents in Ward 83 from gathering at the Roodekrans Lapa, situated on the corner of Wilde Amandel and Amaryllis Streets, geared up with gumboots, gloves and raincoats. Pikitup supplied them with all the other needed materials.

“We wanted to clean up the Muldersdrift-se-Loop that runs through the park, where a lot of rubbish had collected, and I am pleased that community members supported this initiative,” said Suzanne Clarke, the councillor for Ward 83.
She added that she was very grateful to all those who made themselves available to participate in the initiative, despite the pouring rain and cold weather.
“I would like to acknowledge the Police as well as the Roodekrans Neighbourhood Watch who were also present at this event,” she said. “Let us continue to make a difference in our communities.”
