The rain over the past weekend was pure bliss.
I love the sound, smell and feel of rain. But, it also bought on a few problems. I had to make do with a car that needed some assistance to start, so wherever I went I had to beg someone to help me push-start it – pretty embarrassing if you ask me because, like everybody else, I hate having car trouble. Jump-starting the car was not an option. I know, we’ve tried. Standing outside in the pouring rain while someone tries to get the car going was not nice. Arriving at an appointment looking like a drenched cat is even worse.
My car is at the doctor (mechanic) because the clutch failed. There goes my Christmas bonus.
The weather forced me to watch the Oscar Pistorius movie titled Oscar Pistorius: Blade Runner Killer. I was not sure what to expect, but I certainly did not expect bad acting and accents that sounded Australian.
I was a bit disappointed in the movie because based on the reviews I had read I was under the impression that the director would show some insight into what really happened.
Instead he used the information that was revealed during the court case to make a very bad movie. I heard that Reeva Steenkamp’s parents were upset about the movie. I would be too. I don’t think it’s a true reflection of what really happened.
Anyway, with all the rain we received, I hope the Cape will get some as well since the region is in desperate need of some heavenly water.
On another topic, there are only three editions of the paper left for the year. Can you believe how quickly time has flown?
Have you done your Christmas shopping during Black Friday? Or are you going to wait for the madness to end before you do?
Have you seen the Oscar Pistorius movie? What are you thoughts?
Let me know. Send your comments to roelienv@caxton.co.za.
Until next week, take care of one another.
Ciao.
