National Housewife’s Day

Give a huge thank you to the stay-at-home-mom on #NationaHlousewife’sDay

3 November is National Housewife’s Day and is celebrated annually throughout the world.

This day was created to recognise the hard work that goes into taking care of children at home 24/7 and give a special thank you to the stay-at-home mom.

The term ‘housewife’ is an old term which stems from the days when most families only had one income to support them. The mother stayed at home to take care of the household and children while the father worked.

With the changing times, it is no longer always possible for one parent to stay at home – even though it is still preferred by some.

In today’s society, the support of a household requires two incomes, and, if a mother is in a position to stay at home, the term stay-at-home mom or domestic engineer is preferred over housewife.

To celebrate, give the housewife in your family (or one you know) the recognition and honour she deserves for her hard work.

Use #NationalHousewife’sDay to post on social media.
