Seniors spoilt by the DCF
DCF treats seniors for Senior Citizen's month
Members of the Discovery Community Forum (DCF) hosted a Pensioner’s tea recently, to tie in with Senior Citizen’s Month.
“We wanted to do something special for our elderly folk to spoil them a little bit, so we thought it would be nice to arrange a morning tea,” said Marion Kelley from the DCF.
The event took place at the Discovery Recreation Centre and approximately 60 senior citizens attended. Here they were treated to delicious treats, as well as a safety talk from Captain Stroebel, Sergeant Ramosa and Constable Motsoane from the police.

The DCF members wanted to thank one of the Discovery residents, Janine Stengel for sponsoring all the the delicious sweet treats on the day, Ho-Made Bakery for the savoury treats and Pink Party Hire for the use of their equipment.
Marion concluded, by saying, “It was a great opportunity to get to know some of our older residents who don’t always make it to our other events. We thank the police members as well as our senior community for joining us for the morning.”
