The Department of Home Affairs has issued a warning to residents to be careful of the latest scam doing the rounds.According to the Department’s website, a group of individuals visit homes pretending to be officials from the Department of Home Affairs.

They are in possession of documents with letterheads allegedly from Home Affairs that allow them to confirm the validity of identity documents for the upcoming elections. The Department warns residents to not fall victim to this scam, as there is no such initiative from them, and the individuals in question appear to be criminals who want to rob households after gaining entry.

Residents are assured that all Home Affairs officials can be clearly identified by their name tags, and any household visits will be announced through official Government channels.
