Toastmasters invite public to an exciting event
The Florida Toastmasters Club has opened its doors to welcome members of the public to its next meeting.
The Florida Toastmasters Club has opened its doors to welcomed members of the public to its last meeting.
The meeting, was held at Huguenot Restaurant at the Flora Centre last Tuesday evening (17 October), it was set to be an exciting one as the prestigious club hosted the winning speakers from the Trinityhouse Interhouse Public Speaking contest, which took place on 7 September 2017. The Grade 4 to Grade 7 learners delivered their winning speeches during the first half of the programme.
The Florida Toastmasters public relations officer, Dawn Hemming said the club is happy to be involved with the school to encourage the art of public speaking.
“Effective public speaking is among the most valuable skills young people can develop,” she said.
The learners’ speeches were delivered from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, but all guests were welcomed to stay and enjoy the rest of the meeting.
