Taxi protest causes chaos

Public advised to use alternate routes.

Commuters were faced with chaos and delays on the morning of 28 August, due to a taxi protest.

Taxis blocked the on and off ramps at the Maraisburg bridge. This affected motorists travelling on Albertina Sisulu Road and Commando Road. At the time of publication, approximately 9am, the protest was ongoing, according to Metro Police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar. He advised motorists to use alternative routes.

The protest is allegedly about housing issues.
