Update: Residents will have water today
All residents should have full water pressure by midday
Most of the residents affected by the water outage caused by a damaged pipe at a construction site in Constantia Kloof woke up to a restored water supply on the morning of 15 August.
According to Johannesburg Water’s (JW) Twitter page, the water supply is still being restored, and some residents might still be struggling with low water pressure, or no water at all. “Don’t worry about this, the system is still recovering and it will take some time, as two water towers as well as a reservoir were empty. We expect water to be fully restored to all affected areas by midday today (15 August),” the post read.

Residents were reminded that water to low-lying areas will be restored first, before high-lying areas, and that, as soon as the low-lying areas are fully restored, enough pressure will build up to supply those areas higher up.
JW ensured residents that they will continually monitor the water restoration process and keep residents updated on its progress. Residents will still be able to make use of the water tankers at the designated areas, until water has been fully restored. JW urged residents to let them know should a tanker be empty, in order for them to send a truck to fill it up.
JW thanked residents for their patience during the repair process and apologised for the inconvenience caused by the delay in repairing the damaged pipe, as well as the slow restoration of the water supply.
