Apcan Fun Day for children

Fun Day for children

Tabera Ministries, working with Apcan Security, recently hosted a fun day for the children of Dorah’s Ark Children’s Home at Len Rutter Park. They could have fun on the different kinds of jumping castles while Apcan personnel got the hot dogs, cool drinks and sweets ready for their rumbling tummies.

Apcan’s Sales Advisor, Charleen Lessing, said she was happy with the way the fun day turned out and that there will be many more in the future.

“This is our way of giving back to the community – and we will reach out to those in need even more in future.

I had the help of Reverend David van der Berg as well as our Head of Sales, Tertius Weideman, every step of the way to ensure the day was a success.”

Sfiso Mazibuko, the fundraiser for Dorah’s Ark Children’s Home said he was elated with how much interest the home has received after renovations were recently completed.

Sibongile Xaba and Nosipho Radebe can barely restrain themselves from digging in to their yummy hot dogs.

“We are grateful for the people who not only extend a helping hand, but also take the children out for a day. They can have fun and experience new things. This Mandela month we have really been blessed. It started with our home being renovated and now each child has a bed to sleep on. It feels more like a home to all of us. However, there is still a lot that needs to be done to improve the lives of the children and ensure they are happy. That means finding ways to pay stipends to our volunteers,” he said.
