Tiny Tots excel on the big stage

A number of children who are members of the 24 Seven Gymnastics and Trampoline Club, have excelled in one of their first competitive tournaments. They make up the Tiny Tots team, and are only five years old. JT Roux, Cecelia Janse van Vuuren and Dorika Marais showed no fear as they executed what they have learned in training with coach Luitha Roux, and produced good results.

In the Acro-gymnastics competition, which took place in Boksburg, JT won two gold medals in the men’s pairs with the help of his brother, JP. Cecelia won a gold medal in the mixed pairs with her brother Stefan, and in the women’s pairs, Dorika won a gold medal with the help of her sister, Nita.

In the Trampoline competition that took place in Alberton, JT once again took two gold medals followed by Dorika who won two medals, one gold and one silver. Cecelia rounded off her team’s good results with a silver medal and a bronze.

Coach Luitha Roux was proud of her Tiny Tots and said that their achievements are well-deserved.

“They are only five and had to participate in front of big crowds and impress 12 judges. It was scary but they did a phenomenal job.”
