Three dead – is another taxi war looming in Roodepoort?
They found several people with gun-shot wounds in and near a minibus taxi, and some further away.
Commuters and motorists alike are nervous after a shooting in Tshepisong on Sunday night (9 July) in which three people were killed. It is believed the violence was taxi-related.
At approximately 7.45pm on Sunday Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of a shooting on David Webster Boulevard in the township. They found several people with gun-shot wounds in and near a minibus taxi, and some further away.
Three male victims died at the scene. Netcare 911 Advanced Life Support paramedics attended to a seriously injured 29-year-old man who had been shot in the upper left leg. He was stabilised at the scene and given medication to control his pain prior to being transported to hospital by ambulance for further assessment and care.

Bystanders/ witnesses alleged that at least one other man who had been shot in the neck left the scene in another vehicle before paramedics arrived.
This incident was also attend by ambulances from the Provincial Ambulance Service.
The police were on scene and the incident and preceding events will form part of their investigation.
